Scenario & Physics Summary
Decision matrix: aborting takeoff below rotation vs flying the airplane first, maintaining altitude, and securing the door at safe altitude.

Aerodynamic & Operational Physics
An unlatched door pops open 1-3 inches due to low pressure over the cabin roof (Bernoulli suction). It will NOT fly off or jam flight controls.
Distraction is the primary killer. Attempting to slam the door on takeoff roll causes control displacement and runway excursion.
If below V_1/rotation speed, abort. If airborne, FLY THE AIRPLANE, climb to safe altitude, trim, and unlatch/slam firmly or land.
CASA & FAA Exam Gotcha Alert
Exam Trap: Never compromise aircraft pitch/bank control on climb-out to secure a open door. A popped door has zero aerodynamic effect on flight capability.
Frequently Asked Questions & Exam Explanations
Will an unlatched door cause a plane to crash?
No. The door only opens 1-3 inches due to low external pressure. The danger is pilot distraction leading to loss of control.
