MOS Schedule 3 is Schedule 3 of the Part 61 Manual of Standards, a legislative instrument made under CASR Part 61 that defines the syllabus for every flight crew licence knowledge examination in Australia. It is organized into numbered units — for example, Unit 3.2.1 Meteorology — each specifying the exact knowledge a candidate must demonstrate for a given licence.
Every question in a CASA theory exam must be traceable to a specific MOS Schedule 3 unit; a question that cannot be tied to a syllabus unit is not a legitimate exam item. This is why serious exam-prep material cites the MOS unit directly rather than a textbook page — the MOS, not any single textbook, is the actual legal syllabus.
