Airservices Australia’s directory of aerodromes and facilities, published as part of the Aeronautical Information Package.
The En Route Supplement Australia (ERSA) is published by Airservices Australia as one of the volumes of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP). It is issued on a 13 week cycle and is the directory you use to look up an aerodrome before a flight.
Each aerodrome entry lists the classification (certified, uncertified or military), operator contacts and remarks, fuel and services, obstacles, runway data, lighting, radio frequencies, navigation aids and local procedures. The legend at the front of ERSA explains the codes used in every entry.
ERSA is not the same as the AIP Book, which holds permanent national rules and tables, or the Departure and Approach Procedures, which hold instrument procedure charts. Read the full guide on this site for how an entry is laid out, how to decode it and how to use it for flight planning.
